WLF Web site Redesign
In 2000, the Foundation needed a redeveloped Web site that would serve as a repository for litigation case, publication, and marketing information, that could be updated as required by staff members.
Background: In 2000, the Foundation needed a redeveloped Web site that would serve as a repository for litigation case, publication, and marketing information, that could be updated as required by staff members.
Primary Goal: The site itself was to be developed so that content would take center stage, while graphics and other images would be kept to a minimum. Simple navigation would keep the site organized and allow users to access the major areas within one or two clicks.
Solution: NetComm designed, developed, and launched the site in 2001 as a resource for information published by WLF. While the public Web site acts as a resource for WLF members and other entities requiring information on the projects and publications WLF pursues, the back-office administration system allows WLF staffers with little IT experience to publish articles, upload files, and modify any other case, publication, or marketing information found on the site as often as required. WLF now has control over the core information found on its Web site, and has a Web site framework in place that will allow for growth and modification to meet WLF's publishing needs over time.
Result: WLF did grow, having entered hundreds of publications and case details over the past seven years that the site has existed. Because of the flexibility built into the core application, it has grown to include even more functionality and information material, including searchable information, PDF downloads, and regularly published Webcasts.
